for serious. i was riding my bicycle to the library this afternoon and 2 cops on bicycles stopped me to ask me where i was coming from. i said my apartment.

they said that they stopped me because there's someone who robbed a bunch of cars within the past half hour and i fit the description well. the suspect was on a green bike. i have a green bike. black curly hair.

the suspect was wearing a burnt orange UT shirt.. but i was wearing a red degenerics t-shirt. thats one reason they figured it wasnt me, plus the cop said i didn't seem like the kind of guy who would be into robbery.

needless to say i am not and i had to wait there for a patrol car to roll up and make sure that it wasn't me. they took down my name and info from my ID while i was waiting for it. the officer who was in the car asked me where i was coming from and where i was going. i said i was going to the library. i decided not to tell him that i had just finished reading the michael ian black book and it was a day overdue. he did ask me if he could look in my backpack, which was kind of weird cause don't you need a warrant for that? but all that was in there was my overdue book(s) and my laptop so i was like ok yea, sua.

it was weird because right from the start, when they told me about the robbery - i didn't really want to say much because i knew i didn't do it .... and didn't see a reason to like freak out or tell them HEY IT WASNT ME because i don't know, if anything i feel like it'd make me look more suspect. ha.

it somewhat reminded me of when i went to an open mic 2 weeks ago at a coffeeshop. i went to the singer-songwriter open mic they have tuesday on tuesday nights... but they also have a poetry open mic on monday.

the host of the open mic said "oh i know you from the monday one" and i said no, that's not me, that i had never been to it before. i told him that a lot of people sweat my style here.

then he sort of shook his head in agreement and said, "mothafuckas."
